Betty Jean Wright

Betty was born March 13, 1932 in Sumiton, Ala., to Frohna and Elijah Wilson, and passed away June 5, 2023.

On Feb. 5, 1949, she married Charles (Harold) Wright. They were married for 65 years.

She and Harold moved to Oregon in 1953. Betty was a homemaker and enjoyed quilting, gardening, fishing and watching Nascar. She especially loved family gatherings. Betty was loved by her family.

She was preceded in death by her husband, her brother Thomas Wilson and her sister Billie Perry.

Betty is survived by three children, Linda Foley (James) of Longview, Wash., Judy Olsen (Richard) of Kelso, Wash., and Randy Wright (Karen) of Longview; six granddaughters, Katherine, Donna, Stephanie, Jennifer, Kristin and Kayla; 15 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.

A funeral service will be held at 4 p.m. Friday, June 9 at Steele Chapel at Longview Memorial Park, 5050 Mt. Solo Road, in Longview. Betty will be laid to rest next to Harold during a private ceremony June 12 at Hudson Cemetery in Rainier, Ore.
